AFA is a national nonprofit foundation focused on “care…in addition to cure”. Headquartered in New York, AFA is comprised of member and associate member organizations across the United States and Canada that are dedicated to meeting the practical, emotional, social and financial needs of families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

A national resource and referral network with a toll-free hot line staffed by licensed
social workers.
Web site that includes disease information, treatment options, research updates,
caregiving, strategies and links to member organizations.
Comprehensive educational materials in various languages, and a free caregiver
magazine, care ADvantage.
AFA Quilt to Remember, the nation’s first large-scale dementia-related quilt.
National Memory Screening Day, offering free memory screenings for those concerned
about memory loss.
Training for healthcare professionals.
Advocacy for government funding for social services to support individuals.
